Stamping 101
Let’s play together!
What to do when you occupy your kids, but all you have is some paint, and no desire to work on the details for another art project? You make stamps and let them stamp everything out!
You’ll need:
- a sponge (you can use a regular kitchen sponge for dishes, like I did, or a special sponge for crafts)
- a piece of paper (the thicker you can find the better; I recommend sulphite paper or colored cardstock. Regular paper for printing will work, too, but might warp.)
- tempera paint
How do you make your stamps? Super easy! You take kitchen sponge (unused, of course), cut needed shapes and let imagination go wild!
For this video, I chose easy to make shapes of playing kids, but you are an artist of your own art! Enjoy! And have lots of fun!
After you are done making the shapes, dip them in the paint (if your sponge has two different sides, for dipping use the side that is soft and spongy), and press them onto the paper. I used gloves when doing the stamping, but it’s up to you.
That’s it! Cut, dip, press, and enjoy! I hope you’ll have lots of fun with this project!
This was a project inspired by the book “Get Intro Art”.
